Objective

To provide engineering services which are beyond the capability of the target group itself and subsequently to ensure optimum land utilization and more efficient management of the nation's water resources.

Functions

1. IRRIGATION
To provide irrigation facilities and infrastructures for the cultivation of padi and other crops.

2. AGRICULTURE DRAINAGE
To plan and design drainage facilities and infrastructures to support the development of tree crops and commercial crops.

3. RIVER ENGINEERING
To carry out flood mitigation works in rural and urban areas to alleviate flooding through maintenance and reformation of rivers such as dredging, diversion and river training.

4. COASTAL ENGINEERING
To undertake studies and to implement works on coastal erosion and river mouth siltation and to carry out the collection of coastal engineering data.

5. URBAN DRAINAGE
To carry out master plan studies as well as planning, design, implementation and management of urban drainage works to overcome flooding and drainage problems in urban areas.

6. WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
To manage and regulate the state's water resources.

7. SUPPORTING SERVICES
To provide professional civil engineering support services to departments and agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture Development and Food Industry.
